LINK's Arts Infusion Program

 Arts Infusion Program

The purpose of LINK’s Arts Infusion Program is to increase and improve experiences in the arts for the children of Corinth and Alcorn County.  We feel that a quality education should include exposure to a broad array of dynamic arts programs. LINK brings these programs each year to the elementary and middle school students at Alcorn Central, Biggersville, Corinth and Kossuth schools.

"Before a child talks they sing. Before they write they draw. As soon as they stand they dance. Art is fundamental to human expression." - Phylicia Rashad

X8 Interactive Drumming for 1st Grade - Nina Rodriguez, an accomplished percussionist from Source Consulting, demonstrates excellent techniques for interacting with young children. She brings authentic African djembe drums for the children to use. The drumming exercises highlight the relationship of rhythm to words and numbers.

Rhythm-n-Motion for 2nd Grade - Talented movement/dance instructor from our community, Volante Jones visits the elementary schools with upbeat music which encourages the students to move joyfully and creatively.

Program for 5th Grade - Students visit the Corinth Contraband Camp to learn about the significant role the newly freed slaves played in our culture.

Program for 6th Grade – Architectural Discovery Walk in which each class of students is led on a walking tour of downtown Corinth to learn about architectural and historical landmarks.

Artists in the Schools for 3rd Grade -   “A Celebration of the Visual Arts” in which local artists along with high school art teachers and their students go into the schools and teach a hands-on visual arts project during class time.

CT-A Play for 3rd and 4th Grades  - Corinth Theatre-Arts presents a live theatre performance for all 3rd and 4th graders at the beautiful and historic Corinth Coliseum. The enthusiastic and talented group of enthusiastic young actors are professionally directed by CT-A's Director and assisted by CT-A adult volunteers.
