LINK's Arts Infusion Program

 Arts Infusion Program

The purpose of LINK’s Arts Infusion Program is to increase and improve experiences in the arts for the children of Corinth and Alcorn County.  We feel that a quality education should include exposure to a broad array of dynamic arts programs. LINK brings these programs each year to the elementary and middle school students at:  Corinth, Biggersville, Glendale, Kossuth, Alcorn Central and Rienzi.

Za Boom Ba Drumpowerment! for 1st Grade -  Nina Rodriguez,  an accomplished percussionist provided by Source Consulting, has been trained in excellent techniques for interacting with young children.  She brings authentic African djembe drums for the children to use. The drumming exercises highlight the relationship of rhythm to words and numbers.

Heritage Festival Program for 4th Grade - Civil War Drummer, Historical Re-Enactor, Naturalist with live animals, Park Rangers, etc. at the Corinth Coliseum.

Heritage Festival Program for 5th Grade – Visit to the Corinth Depot and grounds to see demonstrations of heritage crafts and hear from the craftspeople.  In addition, the students visit the Corinth Contraband Camp to see a living history demonstration.

Heritage Festival Program for 6th Grade – An “Architectural Scavenger Hunt".  Each class of students is led on a walking tour of downtown Corinth to find and identify architectural and historical landmarks.

Artists in the schools for 3rd Grade -   “A Celebration of the Visual Arts” where local artists along with art teachers and their students go into the elementary schools and teach a hands-on visual arts project.

CT-A touring plays for 2nd and 3rd Grades  - The Corinth Theatre Arts’ Children’s Group takes their play on the road to all six elementary schools for 2nd and 3rd graders.  This group of enthusiastic and talented young people is professionally directed by the CT-A Artistic Director, and assisted by several CT-A adult volunteers.
